Motion Pro T6 Combo Lever Description

T-6 Ultra Lightweight Combo Tyre Lever

Do you carry tyre levers? Have you ever used them? Have you ever noticed that poeple who have used them never buy cheap models and always have a personal favourite pair? Odd, huh?

Not really. Changing tyres is probably the most frequent and least enjoyable part of regular Adventure riding. If you ride for long enough it WILL happen to you. At that point you need one of two things, a friend who is an expert at changing tyres, or a good set of tyre levers. Without either of these you’re in for a miserable hour or two.

These lightweight tools are superb tyre levers, but with added benefits...

Choose your ring spanner size to fit your back wheel nut and you can remove your current socket/ring spanner from your tool kit. Even better is the additional socket adaptor. Buy the two items and you’re talking true weight saving and versatility as most of your heavy weight tool kit disappears!!! Just ask the master, as used by Adventure Motorcycling deity Austin Vince!

  • Tire spoon/axle nut hex wrench

  • Lightweight forged 7075 T-6 aluminum

  • Hard anodized finish

  • Under 10 inches in length and weigh only 100g.

  • Hex wrench sizes fit most popular motorcycle axle nuts

  • Perfect fit for Motion Pro T6 Tool Pack

  • Sizes: 22mm, 24mm, 27mm, 32mm and 12/13mm for rim lock nuts (each lever sold separately)

  • Hex ends are rated for a maximum torque of 90 ft-lbs.

Add the 3/8th inch socket drive adapter in ’related products’ to allow your lever to drive 3/8 sockets (good for the front axle!)

I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight the lever was. It is strong enough and does not noticeable flex when i torque my front axel to 60Nm. I was worried about not being able to "extend" the lever with my 22mm rear axel spanner (using the closed head) due to the size of the spoon width. I can confirm that the spoon width fits through a 22mm, closed silverline combo spanner. This is good as it means easier leverage. The T6 lever also doesn't dent "too much" when you try this technique (though i think i will wrap it in electrical tape or something). I should add that the spanner head of the combo lever is inline with the main shaft so doesn't have a 15deg slant or anything which means in my case i cannot get one for the rear axel (Yamaha xt660z Tenere 09). It is pricey but i think it's worth it considering it does 3 jobs (with the T6 socket adapter) and weighs next to nothing in what is an already hideously overweight trail pack! Highly recommended! These are real handy, light weight but very strong. I always take them with me as part of the puncture kit when I go green laneing. Get one to fit the front wheel nut and one for the back and thats two other tools you don't need to carry. Not sure if they are strong enough to change the big boots on my road bike but as it has the spanner in one end I always pack it and use it as the middle leaver complemented with two big tough ones either side.
