Eliminate Turbulence, Wind-Noise and Buffeting

The new R1250RT Windshield ensures turbulence free airflow, reduced back-pressure and wind noise.  Our signature flared top directs airflow 3″ to 4″ higher when compared to a screen without a flare.

Unlike the stock screen, the tallest point of the Windshield is in the center.  The gentle flare at the top directs smooth airflow up and over the driver and passenger’s helmets while the driver looks over the screen.

By making the widest portion of our screens lower than stock, we’ve decreased the amount of air that sweeps around the screen as it’s raised. We’ve also incorporated a molded side flare that offers excellent, arm, shoulder and torso protection without having to increase the plastic width.

Dimensions and Height Recommendations

Windshields are designed to provide smooth, turbulence free cooling air when the screen is in the down position and over-the-helmet coverage when the screen is raised 1″- 2″ from the full down position.

Your height, weight, inseam and bike set up all comes into play when choosing an Windshield. Our general rule of thumb is to go with the tallest screen that is nose to lip level when lifted 1″ to 2″ from full down. A taller screen raised 1″ to 2″, works better than a shorter screen raised all the way up.

Screen lengths are measured from bottom tip to center top with a cloth measuring tape.

22″ Windshield: Although 2″ shorter than stock, the flared top of the Windshield provides over-the-helmet coverage for riders up to 5’6″.

24″ Windshield: Same height as the stock screen but the Windshield flared top lifts the air 3″ to 4″ higher than stock. Exceptional coverage for riders up to 6′.

26″ Windshield: 2″ taller than stock. The extra length and flared top provides even the tallest rider a quiet pocket of coverage and protection.  For riders 6′ and up.

Mounting Note

We’ve increased the air intake at the bottom of the screen to allow more airflow to travel along the backside of the screen. This air helps alleviate back pressure and contributes to driver and passenger coverage. To achieve uninterrupted airflow on the backside of the screen, the Windshield is slightly more shallow than stock.
As a result, the stock hole covers do not sit flush against the Windshield. There is a very small gap of approx. 1/8″ between the Windshield and the inside edge of the stock hole covers. This slight gap does not create any performance issues and is hardly noticeable. We tried many prototypes that didn’t create this gap and felt the superior protection of the current Windshield design was worth allowing the gap to remain.
