Bumot Defender EVO Top Box & Mount for BMW R1200/1250GS-LC

I bought a full set of Bumot Defender Evo luggage for my new R1250GS, including toolbox, liners etc. and am delighted with it. Fitting the rack was harder than it should have been simply because of the super strength thread locker BMW use on the pillion peg mounts, nothing to do with the luggage system. Other than that the installation was a breeze and the quality of the Bumot kit is superb. I went for the 40/36 panniers and 43 litre top box. Thats the mid size panniers and large topbox. My reason was to balance width and capacity for the panniers and to be able to store a helmet in the topbox as the panniers are too narrow for a lid unless you go for the bigger ones (which are wider and so more of a pain filtering). I did my first trip two up over the last couple of days and had plenty of luggage space so am very happy with my choices. My bike is the new black and yellow 40th Anniversary GS and the Black Bumot luggage looks absolutely gorgeous on the bike. The luggage is so robust that I can see it lasting years and the detail is excellent. For example the friction hinges that mean the lids stay where you leave them when opened rather than needing straps or anything. The lids seal so well that the luggage is completely waterproof with neither rain nor the pressure washer I used to clean the bike getting past them. I started with the basic panniers and then added carry straps, liners, to-box and toolkit and would recommend getting the whole kit and caboodle from the start as that is where you will end up if you are anything like me!
